Challenge

Ascot Wholesale, with over 25 years of experience supplying the hospitality industry, needed a flexible and scalable website to better manage their rapidly growing product range of nearly 20,000 items. Their primary goal was to improve their PPC ROAS, grow organic visibility, and enhance overall conversions.

The existing Magento build was limiting their growth, and a more responsive platform was required to meet the demands of their business. Additionally, they needed a much-improved user journey to drive engagement and sales.

The Work

We carried out an extensive UX process, including in-depth workshops with the client to fully understand their business needs and customer behaviour. This informed the design of a user-friendly, intuitive website that made navigation and purchasing easy for their customers.

Following these insights, we executed a seamless migration from Magento to WooCommerce, leveraging the flexibility of WordPress to address their advanced and evolving business needs. Our team developed a super-fast, highly optimised branded theme using Nginx-managed servers for caching and Cloudflare integration for enhanced speed and performance. The intuitive search feature and postcode-based shipping finder were key improvements for better user experience, making the site easier to use.

We integrated secure Stripe payments to provide seamless and reliable transaction processing for users, ensuring a smooth and secure checkout experience.

The project also included intensive WooCommerce optimisation for their large product catalogue, ensuring quick load times and smooth navigation. To support their marketing efforts, we integrated Mailchimp, helping to streamline communication and customer engagement.

Once the website was live we engaged in an intensive product recategorisation alongside a 15k Ai content generation project. This finalised the build with on page content that resonated with the user and was a great foundation for SEO.
